-Both worked for the bad guys, but end up in a grey area later in their respective games
-Both have their own ideas about professionalism and following orders
-They have THE SAME VOICE ACTORS in both Japanese AND English.
what I suggest is that in midgar reno is replaced with lea, but got a job working for shinra. he hasn't any fire powers or memories at first, but seeing sora triggers some lost memories.
